… or Luna’s First Lady Drama!
Hello my dear readers. Well. Where do I even begin? If you’ve been following my paw-spective for a while, you’ll know that I, Tsuki, the regal and refined Boxer, have been enduring (I mean, enjoying) life with my little sister, Luna - a pint-sized powerhouse.
Since the day she moved in, baby Luna has been nothing short of a fluffy whirlwind - stealing yarn, snatching toys, barking at air, and generally making sure everyone knows she’s HERE. But recently… things changed. Oh yes. Karma wore a little red collar and came tap-tap-tapping on Luna’s door.
That’s right, folks. Luna had her first Season. (And no, not the kind with roasted turkey and gravy.)
It started with a lot of sniffing, tail-flagging, and weird barking fits that even I couldn’t decode. One minute she was bouncing off the walls like a sausage-shaped tornado on caffeine, the next she was curled up in a ball looking like a sad, soggy croissant. Honestly, she was barking more than usual and oddly somehow being eerily quiet. It was spooky.
And the food situation? All over the place. She either inhaled her bowl like a piglet at a buffet or turned her nose up at it completely - and (get this) she didn't even try to steal mine, like when I was unwell, except I wasn’t…. I was half worried. Half thrilled. Mostly thrilled.
She’d sleep for hours, dead to the world, snoring like a grumpy old man… then suddenly spring up like she’d had five espressos and couldn’t find her tail. Whining, pacing, sneaking into strange corners of the house, and honestly - looking just a little bit deranged.
Her tiny bits (sorry Luna, but it’s true) started puffing up like overripe fruit. Not cute. And don’t even get me started on the leaky situation. It was messy. Disgusting. And no amount of princess energy could save her from the horror of dripping wherever she went. I stayed far, far away. (Except when Mum made me check on her, which I did like a true big sister… you’re welcome, Luni).
For the past three weeks, our home turned into a melodramatic soap opera starring a hormonal sausage with no off switch.
But here’s the silver lining. While Luna was banned from walkies (something about “not attracting a fan club of shady characters”), I got to go solo with Dad every day. Just me. Glorious, peaceful, undivided attention. No squeaky barking. No leash tangles. Just pure Tsuki Time. I walked tall. I walked proud. I soaked up every “Oh what a beautiful Boxer!” comment like the queen I am.
Now, things seem to be calming down. Luna’s back to stealing yarn, barking at butterflies, and making a general nuisance of herself - which honestly is kind of comforting. Balance has almost returned. The fluffball is back in her usual mischief mode.
But the question on my mind? Is there a break before Season: The Sequel? Because next time, I’m either checking into a luxury dog spa… or I’m buying myself a tiara and declaring it Tsuki Appreciation Month.
Heads up, pups: if your tiny housemate is about to go full Season Drama Queen, may your snack pile be high and your tolerance higher.
Love,Tsuki ?
PS. I’ve put together a Season Survival Plan - and there’s a shopping list. Just in case, you know, the drama returns:
Noise-Cancelling Headphones - Because the barking, whining, and random zoomies are a LOT.
Extra Cozy Hideout Spot - Preferably somewhere Luna can’t find me. The Harry Potter closet under the staircase is ideal.
Secret Snack Stash - Since Luna forgets to eat, more for me. Just don’t tell Mum.
Boxerflix & Chill - A comfy blanket, a good squirrel documentary, and zero interruptions.
A Diary - To log all her moods, messes, and mayhem… for the memoirs, of course.
Bribery Treats - To trade with Luna in exchange for peace and quiet.
