Ozford College in Melbourne Announces Closure

We know this update will be upsetting and unsettling. We are writing to share an important update and to explain how we will support you through the next steps. Ozford College has been committed to providing a positive learning experience for you all, and has worked intensively and in good faith over the past three years to achieve this. Our priority has always

been your learning, well being and continuity.

Despite these sustained efforts, the Victorian Registration and Qualifications Authority (VRQA) issued a Notice of Decision dated Monday, 16 February 2026, determining that the College does not meet the

prescribed minimum standards for school registration. The VRQA also decided to cancel the College’s approval to provide courses to overseas students. Whilst we have explored a range of alternative options, unfortunately Ozford College must cease operating on 12 March 2026.

We recognise this outcome is extremely difficult for our whole community. We are truly sorry for the distress and uncertainty it may cause you. Please know we are committed to taking all reasonable steps

to ensure you experience as little disruption and anxiety as possible.

College operational update (classes and activities)

To prioritise student welfare and support an orderly transition, the College will cease delivering classes and other school activities at 4:30pm on 11 March 2026, except for student support services and transition assistance.

We understand that this timeframe is challenging. Please be assured that our team is working urgently and carefully to support our students in a respectful and practical way. We will provide updates as soon as further information becomes available.

What this means for you

Because every student’s circumstances are different, our approach will be tailored. In the meantime:

• If you are currently attending classes, a member of our Student Support Team will contact you to discuss an individual transition plan and next steps, including assistance with academic records and documentation where required.

• If you are enrolled but have not yet commenced (first-time commencement), due to the VRQA’s

conditions the College cannot permit first-time commencement at this time. Please contact us using the details below so we can guide you on next steps.

• If you are an overseas student, separate processes apply to support transfer and/or refund arrangements under Commonwealth requirements. We will contact you directly (and your arent/guardian where applicable) with the relevant next steps.

Fees and refunds

We understand you will have immediate questions about fees. Subject to each student’s circumstances,

the College will provide either:

• a pro‑rata refund for the unused portion of the course/tuition; or

• where a transfer arrangement is agreed with another provider, we can transfer the remaining

fees to the new provider on your behalf.

Details will be confirmed with you individually, as amounts and arrangements depend on each student’s

enrolment and attendance circumstances.
